Three traditional saws that form the basis of Japanese sawing: the double-sided Ryoba , a precise Dozuki (fine) saw, and a strong Kataba saw. Each of these traditionally crafted Japanese saws features fine teeth, ensuring clean and thin cuts. They are perfectly suited for making wood joints where a beautiful appearance is important.

The Dozuki has a reinforced back, which makes sawing straight easier; with the Ryoba you can crosscut and rip wood (sawing lengthwise; coarser teeth); and the Kataba is a strong all-round saw.
